Delavan man faces sexual assault charges

ELKHORN — A 67-year-old Delavan man allegedly admitted to a detective that he assaulted two young girls, according to a recently filed criminal complaint. David L. Burdick, 353 Tyrrell Court, No. 313, has been charged with two counts of repeated sexual assault of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 120 years imprisonment.

Ice cream truck driver arrested for drunken driving

A 44-year-old man faces a fourth-offense drunken driving charge after he allegedly drove an ice cream truck at a campground while intoxicated. Police arrested Charles G. Stephan, who is now incarcerated, after receiving calls of an ice cream truck in the Meadowlark Campground in Lyons traveling at a high-rate of speed and honking its horn. The call came in May 27 at about 3 a.m., and a Walworth County Sheriff's deputy was able to locate the vehicle.

Montana man allegedly stole from elderly mother

A 42-year-old Montana man allegedly stole more than $38,000 from his elderly mother, who was banking in Walworth County. Michasel W. Bryzek, of Anaconda, has been charged with felony theft from a business setting. If convicted, he faces more than $25,000 in fines and 10 years imprisonment.

Woman faces sixth OWI

June 07, 2012
A 44-year-old Walworth woman faces a felony sixth offense drunken driving charge after her June 4 arrest in the town of Delavan. If convicted, Elaine S. Bain, 255 N. Main St., faces a maximum penalty of six years imprisonment and $10,000 in fines. The charge also carries a minimum penalty of six months imprisonment and $600 in fines.

Man guilty of theft, making threats to business owner

June 07, 2012
ELKHORN — A 51-year-old man was sentenced to three years of probation May 31 after he allegedly threatened a Delavan Township business owner. Richard A. Fores, of Milwaukee, pleaded guilty to felony charges of theft of movable property and threatening to injure someone or accuse them of a crime. As a condition of his probation, Fores must complete 60 hours of community service. He also paid the victim $4,486 in restitution.
