Illegal immigrant gets 10 years in rape case

July 19, 2012
ELKHORN — "Just thinking about it hurts me," the victim said while sobbing. The "it" refers to a rape that occurred more than 10 years ago in the basement of a Delavan apartment. The victim, who was 13 at the time, was lured into a laundry room by David Zuccolotto, a then 19-year-old illegal immigrant. "I hope to God that he suffers. Like he made me," the woman said during Zuccolotto's sentencing.

Delavan man receives 'stayed' sentence in pot through mail case

July 19, 2012
ELKHORN — A 52-year-old Delavan man won't go to prison after police intercepted a package heading to his home with more than two pounds of pot in it. Paul S. Neves, formerly of East Troy, pleaded guilty April 27 to conspiring to possess marijuana with intent to deliver. The charges were filed after law enforcement intercepted a package that contained more than two pounds of pot that was addressed to Neves. On July 16, Judge Robert Kennedy imposed and stayed a four-year prison sentence, which means Neves will only be incarcerated if he violates the terms of his six year probation.
