Man pleads not guilty by reason of mental disease

August 16, 2012
A 28-year-old Delavan man accused of pointing a firearm at a neighbor and pulling the trigger pleaded not guilty Aug. 15 by reason of mental disease or defect. During the June 17 incident, the gun did not fire, and the magazine fell to the ground. Brandon L. Feltner, 410 N. Terrace St., No. 6, faces felony charges of first-degree reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm by a felon. He also faces misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct, both as domestic abuse incidents. All four charges have been elevated to a repeater status because Feltner was convicted in 2009 of felony child abuse causing great bodily harm.
