BLOOMFIELD — A 41-year-old Bloomfield woman was taken into custody after she allegedly stabbed a 39-year-old man during a domestic abuse incident.

On Sunday, June 23 at about 9:45 p.m., police responded to N1217 W. Lake Shore Drive for a report of a stabbing.

When police arrived they made contact with a 39-year-old man who had been stabbed in the shoulder blade. The victim was transported to Aurora Lakeland Medical Center and then was flown Flight For Life to Froedtert Hospital, Wauwatosa. The unidentified man is still at Froedtert Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The woman was transported to Lakeland Hospital where she was treated for nonlife threatening injuries, which she apparently received during a fight, according to the police department press release.

After the woman was released from the hospital, she was taken to the Walworth County jail. The Bloomfield Police Department has referred charges against her to the Walworth County District Attorney's Office for recklessly endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery and disorderly conduct.

Police have also referred charges to prosecutors against the 39-year-old man for battery, disorderly conduct and strangulation and suffocation.

The press release from the Bloomfield Police Department doesn't include the names of the parties involved. Bloomfield Police Chief Steve Cole is the contact person for the department and he wasn't immediately available for comment.
