December 28, 2011 | 07:35 AMWhat an exciting year this has been for The Time Is Now To Help. We have networked good fellow American's that want to make a difference. We have crossed paths with amazing people, shared in many wonderful events, and been graced with overwhelming appreciation and love.
We thank God daily for bringing us these blessings. We also are saddened by the many faces of poverty we have seen this year. Many of their faces stay with me long after I have left their homes. The children with cancer, the senior citizens living without, the forgotten handicapped ... more than 500 different fellow Americans we have given assistance to this year, changing their lives for the better.
The best thing to come out of the CNN Heroes experience was the attention we brought to a problem that exists behind closed doors. Where ever you go in our wondrous nation and around the world you will find people living without the most basic needs.
If everyone could offer a few minutes to care and share each week with another person in need, what a better place our world would be. What CNN Heroes really wants to accomplish is to show that everyday people can bring about change. All you have to do is see the need and be part of a solution. Decades ago I saw the many needs of our fellow Americans living in poverty and fear. I offered not only food, rent, clothing, toiletries, utility assistance, I also gave them hope and let them know I really cared, showing them they are not alone.
Someone does want a better life for them. That someone is us, through The Time Is Now To Help. Letting them know someone cares often brings about a positive change in their outlook and attitude. A face that hasn't smiled for a long time due to suffering, is given love and smiles again. Removing their pain and suffering is what I live for. Thank you for helping.
I have received many letters and e-mails from people all over the country asking how to start their own The Time Is Now To Help. The first part is seeing the need. Then you have to find the best solution. You also need to have the backing of your family, friends, businesses, volunteers, donors, etc.
It really does take a networking of good people to run a charitable organization that does make a big difference for many. I receive unending support from my family, who also volunteer their time and understand my true commitment in doing God's work for our fellow creations, my friends that understand my heart and want to be part of the caring and sharing.
The many business owners that offer products and services to our recipients, the groups and organizations that spend time holding fundraisers for us, the donors that contribute, and the volunteers that give of their time to make another fellow creation's life worth living. We need that support to make real changes for a better life for all.
I encourage you to volunteer your time at one of the many organizations. Find one that shares your philosophy of caring. Join a fundraising effort. Deliver meals for the many home bound senior citizens. Mentor a child. Walk dogs at your local animal shelter. Whatever brings about a positive change in our world, these actions of love will bring about a positive change in your life also.
There is too much pain and suffering in our gift of life and if it is our fellow creation's pain and suffering, it is also ours. Together, we need to continue to grow our network of love and show not just the world but our God; our goodness, what our hearts, minds, and souls are all about. Together our networking will continue to relieve pain and suffering, give hope, reaching back to all those that need us. Caring and sharing with a compassion, changing our world.
Together we have removed the tears of many. Yes we have made our fellow creations cry happy tears of disbelief that there are people who do care, do love one another. Thank you for helping The Time Is Now to Help remove the pain and suffering of so many.
The Time Is Now To Help plans on continuing to do what we have done for many years, offering assistance to the poverty stricken people in need. We have many requests for housing assistance, utility assistance, auto assistance, household necessities, toiletries, food ... all the daily necessities that relieve the pain and suffering of poverty. We will continue to be very busy in the coming weeks and throughout the new year, changing the lives of many through our caring, sharing and loving our fellow creations. We continue to encourage others to do the same. God Bless everyone and I wish you a very Happy & Healthy New Year!
Health and Happiness, God Bless Everyone, WC/Sal Dimiceli Sr.
