From time to time Time Is Now reports on where the donations went and some of the major grants its received. Here is the most recent report:

The Montei Foundation $20,000 Matching Grant = $40,000 in Poverty Assistance

"Thank You" to everyone that participated in The Montei Foundation $20,000 Matching Grant. We are very grateful to The Montei Foundation and our wonderful supporters for providing $40,000 in poverty assistance. These funds were put to use immediately to alleviate the pain and suffering of the many working poor, children, senior citizens, and handicapped turning to us for assistance. The following shows how every penny of the matching grant was spent to provide shelter assistance/rent, utility assistance, auto repairs, gas, food, toiletries, household necessities, and beds. Thank you for caring and sharing for your fellow Americans.

THIS IS HOW WE HELPED:

RENT = $13,010

The number one fear of poverty is homelessness. The fear and shame is devastating. The Montei Foundation, matched with your generous donations, provided several months of rental assistance for twelve families, disabled, and senior citizens. They have all been relieved of the stress of impending eviction and homelessness. We have provided them with the helping hand they needed to get over a tough financial crisis, the same crisis that has affected so many other fellow Americans during this recession. According to HUD's 2010 Annual Homeless Assessment Report nearly 242,000 persons in families experience homelessness each night in America. There are many children leaving homeless shelters and motels to go to school each morning. Our children, senior citizens, and disabled deserve better than sleeping in a motel and uncertainty of their future. The Time Is Now to Help has given them the security and shelter they need.

UTILITIES = Gas: $6,305.65; Electricity: $10,450.00; Telephone: $800

Now that we are past the mandated utility disconnection date there are many people unable to pay their utility bills and keep their gas and electric utilities on. The fear and shame of living without utilities is second to the fear of homelessness. Many fellow creations have to choose between rent or utilities. For 25 families, senior citizens, and disabled people we have prevented this from becoming a reality. The Montei Foundation, The Time Is Now to Help and all of you have replaced their fear with the security and comfort of having lights, heat, telephone, working appliances, and all the other things utilities provide. God bless all of you for helping.

FOOD = $3,037.70

Thank you to The Montei Foundation and your donations for providing healthy food for the many people living in hunger. Empty cupboards and refrigerators are much too common place in my visits. When I see hungry children, senior citizens, families, and the handicapped rationing their food to have enough to get through the day or week, I feel an overwhelming sadness. I remember being a hungry young child and not understanding the pains of hunger I felt. Now I see the sadness of hunger on the faces of the many turning to us for assistance. Thank you for providing nourishing food for many of our fellow creations.

TOILETRIES = $816.20

When people ask me what toiletries are I tell them they are the items you use every day that you would not want to live without. You would never know there are so many fellow Americans living without these items. Thanks to The Montei Foundation and your donations we were able to supply toilet paper, diapers, sanitary products, tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, etc. to many senior citizens, children, handicapped, and families that were in desperate need. God bless all of you for helping us to provide these items.

HOUSEHOLD NECESSITIES = $783.24

The Montei Foundation and your matching funds provided sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, pots, pans, and cleaning supplies. The senior citizens, families, and handicapped were very grateful for what your donations provided.

AUTO ASSISTANCE = Repairs: $1,212.01; Gas Cards: $1,465.20

Working mothers and the disabled have a hard time keeping their vehicles in good working order. We provided four cars with the repairs needed to keep them running reliably for their owners. When cars are not maintained in good working order it keeps our fellow creations from their jobs and doctors visits. It causes job loss and stress. We have removed this worry and stress. We also provided much needed gas cards for many struggling to pay for gas, along with rent, utilities, food and other basic necessities. Thank you for helping us to provide this much needed assistance.

BEDS = $2,120

Complete bed sets were provided for five senior citizens. These seniors were very appreciative of a new bed. Several had not slept in a bed for a few years due to the terrible condition their mattress was in. One senior woman that was also battling cancer was sleeping on a bed that was over twenty-five years old and had been in a flood. Another woman was going through dialysis treatments three times a week and only had a chair to sleep in. She was full of happy, grateful tears when she finally got to sleep in her own new bed. Their thankfulness was shared in lovely notes to The Time Is Now to Help and all of you.

"There is not a night that we go to bed without sending a prayer of thankfulness to all of you at The Time Is Now to Help." a senior husband and wife that shared an old twin bed for years.

"It feels so good to sleep in a bed again. I have not had a bed for over twenty years. It was so generous of all of you." a struggling senior woman with health concerns.

"I cry every time I get in my new bed. I never thought anyone cared enough about me to be so generous. I am in shock and so thankful." a senior gentleman.

TOTAL: $40,000

Thank you again to The Montei Foundation and all of our supporters for making this assistance possible. Our many fellow Americans in need are thankful for your generosity. Together we make a big difference in the lives of many. God bless all of you for making all our good works possible.

Health and happiness, God bless everyone, W.C./Sal
