Fox Charities Matching Grant = $50,000 in assistance

We have received several requests asking if we published the Fox Charities Fall 2013 $25,000 matching grant breakdown, which yielded $50,000 in much needed poverty assistance.

We have been so busy providing the assistance that this generous matching grant provided that we are finally sharing with all of you where every penny was spent to relieve the pains of poverty.

Fox Charities and you, our wonderful donors, have provided us with the opportunity to provide this life changing, life saving assistance.

This matching grant provided over 100 of our fellow creations with shelter/rent, utility assistance, food, toiletries, household necessities, transportation assistance, dental assistance and a much needed home repair for a single mother with young children.

That is the life changing effect of all of us coming together to accomplish so much throughout our communities. Thanks be to God for the compassion we all share.

Rent/shelter = $15,681.84

Thanks to Fox Charities, and your generosity, we provided single mothers, senior citizens and working poor families with rental assistance and emergency shelter.

A mother struggling through overwhelming loss and medical bills due to a devastating accident, a senior citizen battling cancer, a single mother deciding between rent and food, a senior couple that could not pay rent after paying their extremely high utility bills ... these are just a few of the heartbreaking conditions we have encountered in the last few months.

There are so many more that we have not shared, that you do not know about, our fellow creations that were hiding their poverty behind closed doors, children, senior citizens and disabled that were too embarrassed to share their stories of loss and poverty.

I can assure you each recipient was assessed and found in great need of our caring and sharing. Your donations, matched by Fox Charities, provided the helping hand these fellow creations needed to stay sheltered, safe and warm during this extremely harsh winter.

Utilities = $7,165.57

Electricity = $1,900, Gas = $4,265.57

Water = $300, Phone = $700

Thanks to the Fox Charities and your generosity, we paid overdue electric, gas, water and phone utilities.

A senior citizen couple did not have the money to fill their propane tank, but The Time Is Now to Help made sure this senior citizen couple had a full tank to heat their humble dwelling. Living without heat and fuel for cooking was only days away, until all of us together, came to their rescue.

Our fellow creations are struggling to keep up with escalating utility costs. Rent, food, transportation are all chosen over utility bills when you are struggling in poverty.

Food = $6,344.77

Thanks to the Fox Charities Fall 2013 $25,000 matching grant and your generosity, many fellow creations will not go hungry. Funds were provided to the W.C. Resource Center and Food Pantry to provide much needed food. Your donations also provided emergency food assistance with gift cards. Emergency food deliveries were provided by volunteers to our home bound seniors, those living without transportation and the disabled.

Food deprivation is a real problem for our poverty stricken. True hunger is a pain you never forget once you have felt it. So many poverty stricken are provided cheap empty calorie food, just to fill the hunger. We make sure our seniors, children and working poor families receive nutritious healthy food. Not chips and sugar laden cereals, but healthy proteins, fruits, vegetables and grains. Thank you for filling the pantries and refrigerators of many facing hunger.

Transportation = $16,411.55

Thanks to your generous donations, matched by the Fox Charities Matching Grant, we were able to repair cars for senior citizens and single mothers. One of the cars repaired was a donated vehicle.

We purchased two cars for families in need of reliable transportation in order to maintain their employment. We also provided gas vouchers for many of our recipients to ease the burden of transportation costs.

Budgets continue to be stretched by the need for gas to get to jobs, doctors appointments, job interviews, etc. Thank you for providing this much needed assistance to our poverty stricken fellow creations.

Toiletries = $600.00

Toilet paper, diapers, shampoo, soap, deodorant are all necessary to maintain your personal hygiene. Tooth brushes, tooth paste and floss are all necessary for dental hygiene, especially if you do not have any extra funds to see a dentist. Personal appearance is important in maintaining your employment.

Your donations, matched by Fox Charities compassion, provided these much needed items for many turning to The Time Is Now to Help for assistance.

Household necessities = $1,476.27

Towels, sheets, blankets, pillows, cleaning supplies and much more, are all considered household necessities. So many live without these items we take for granted. Laundry detergent is often considered a luxury by the poverty stricken. I often come across children that sleep on very old pillows, sheets with holes and very worn thin blankets.

Dental assistance = $1,120

Dental pain continues to be a problem for many of our poverty stricken. Have you ever tried to function for a day, a week, a month enduring the pain from cavities? The poverty stricken have to do this all the time.

When I visit one of our fellow creations I am very observant of their needs. I occasionally witness the wrenching pain caused by dental problems. Unfortunately the need far outweighs the funds available for dental care, but we continue to provide this important assistance. Thank you to our dentists that provide discounted services, to Fox Charities and to all of you for making this assistance possible.

Home repairs = $1,200

A desperately needed furnace repair was provided for a single mother. The mother and children were living without adequate heat in the freezing Wisconsin weather. They were tearfully grateful for your and Fox Charities gracious donations that allowed this repair.

Grand total = $50,000

Every penny you donated, along with Fox Charities $25,000 matching funds, went to assist the poverty stricken.

My dear readers and friends, what we do together is so special. Helping our fellow creations, our caring and sharing, doing our good works, is life changing for those we help. God Bless all of you for making The Time Is Now to Help so special.

Health and happiness,
