TOWN OF SHARON — An Illinois man died after he was ejected in a rollover crash Jan. 18 at 9:30 a.m. near the village of Sharon.
The driver was identified as Jeffery S. Janet, 48, of Union, Ill.
After the crash, Walworth County Sheriff's Deputies along with Village of Sharon police, Harvard, Ill., police and McHenry County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover crash. This occurred on Stateline Road 1/2 mile east of the village limits of Sharon.
Upon arrival, first responders located a the man on the north side of Stateline Road in a cornfield. He had been ejected from his 2008 Ford F-150 Truck, which was eastbound on stateline road from the village of Sharon.
The road was snow packed and icy, and the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle lost control of his truck. The truck crossed into the westbound lane before entering the north ditchline, and the truck left the road and overturned and rolled.
The driver was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected. First responders began life-saving measures and the driver was eventually flown out to Rockford Memorial Hospital, but succumbed to his critical injuries.
