DELAVAN — City of Delavan police are investigating a report of a stabbing late Monday afternoon.

Police Chief Tim O'Neill said police received a call that a 22-year-old man was stabbed after an argument on Barnes Street at Elmhurst Avenue.

Police received the call from a witness at about 3:24 p.m.

O'Neill said when police arrived at the scene, the victim had already left. They later interviewed him at Mercy Walworth, where he was being treated for cuts and scrapes.

O'Neill said the victim is expected to recover. O'Neill said police are now interviewing several male suspects.
