TOWN OF WALWORTH — A 14-month-old toddler was killed after he was attacked by two pit bulls.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Department issued a press release this afternoon reporting that the child was attacked by the dogs.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported this evening that the child died from his injuries.

After the attack the boy was flown by Flight For Life to a Milwaukee-area hospital with critical injuries.

On March 6, at about 12:46 p.m., the Walworth County Sheriff received a 911 call from a 30-year-old woman who reported her pit bulls were attacking her and the toddler.

Deputies and rescue personnel responded to the scene. Both animals were taken to a local veterinarian and were euthanized.

The young boy was initially transported by ambulance to Mercy-Walworth Medical Center and Hospital and was then taken by Flight For Life to a Milwaukee-area hospital.

This is an open, ongoing investigation, according to the press release.
