Delavan man sentenced for drunken driving

ELKHORN — A 22-year-old Delavan man was sentenced April 19 to 18 months in a state prison after he hurt three people in a drunken driving crash in the city of Delavan.

David Gerald Scott Michalosky, 2317 Prairie View Drive., also was sentenced to two years of extended supervision.

For the next two years, his driver's license will be revoked. An ignition interlock device also must be installed in his vehicle.

On April 19, Michalosky pleaded guilty to three felony charges of drunken driving causing injury, second or subsequent offense.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Feb. 24, police were dispatched to the scene of a one vehicle crash on Laurel Heights Drive.

At the scene, police spoke to Michalosky, who said he was driving too fast and was going at least 40 mph when he hit the tree.

He told police that he didn't have a driver's license because of a previous drunken driving offense. Michalosky told police he had "way too much" to drink and that he "shouldn't be driving."

A preliminary breath test came back with a blood alcohoWThe passengers in the vehicle were transported to Mercy Walworth Medical Center for treatment.

One of the passengers suffered from a broken rib and bruised lungs. Another had a laceration on her forehead that required stitches. The third passenger suffered bruising to the head and arm.
