August 21, 2012 | 04:13 PMA 56-year-old Whitewater man faces felony charges after he allegedly fondled a 12-year-old boy on separate occasions in Jefferson, Rock and Walworth counties.
Dennis P. Rintala, 755 N. Tratt St., No. 99, faces charges of repeated sexual assault of a child.
If convicted, he faces up to 60 years imprisonment, which can include up to 40 years of initial incarceration.
The criminal complaint outlines assaults that allegedly took place in several counties, although charges have only been filed in Walworth County.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Aug. 6, the alleged victim spoke to a forensic interviewer and disclosed that Rintala had touched him in a sexual manner.
He said these assaults occurred at the defendant's home in Jefferson County and near a railroad track in Rock County.
In Walworth County, the youngster said that Rintala touched him in a sexual manner while parked outside of a church.
On Aug. 6, Rintala was interviewed by a police officer, and he admitted to touching the boy in a sexual manner multiple times.
He told police he met the boy at a church. Rintala also allegedly told police "it's the flesh" and "that is the way of sin, is it's enticing."
