February 15, 2013 | 12:04 PMA 31-year-old Madison man was sentenced Feb. 13 to three years in prison after he had sex with a 14-year-old Walworth County girl.
Andrew J. Hying, 754 Engelhart Drive, pleaded guilty Dec. 12 to a felony charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child.
Hying's sentence also includes three years of extended supervision.
As part of the plea agreement, Deputy District Attorney Joshua Grube couldn't make a specific recommendation on the length of sentence. However, Grube did ask Judge John Race to send Hying to prison.
Hying met the girl online. Before meeting the girl in person, he chatted with her on Skype, a program that allows people to video chat.
According to the criminal complaint:
On July 13, police spoke to a 14-year-old girl who said she had sex with a man she met on the Internet. The incident occurred at the girl's home.
She knew the man by a fake name, and that man was later identified as Hying.
