March 10, 2014 | 09:32 AMThe Lake Geneva Police Department and the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call on Monday, March 10 after the 911 operator heard a gun threat.
According to Lake Geneva Police Sgt. Dan Derrick, a cellphone called 911. While no one spoke to the 911 operator, the line was left open, and the 911 operator heard a male and female shouting.
“The operator heard something about a gun, so we came out,” Derrick said.
The Regional News heard “Do you want me to get the gun?” quoted over the police scanner.
When the police arrived at the scene, the woman came out of the house, but the male refused to leave.
While the man was inside, the Lake Geneva school bus route and garbage pickup were re-routed.
Eventually, the man came out of house, Derrick said. The man was taken into custody, and no one was injured.
As the Sheriff’s Department was leaving the scene, a Regional News reporter heard someone yelling at the police.
“Get out of my house! I never gave you permission!”
Derrick said he couldn’t comment on who was screaming.
