Classier. Newer. Improved.

The Show Palace near Darien is under new ownership and the new management wants people to know that it's changed.

For starters, the interior has been completely rebuilt says Neela, the co- owner.

"Basically, all that's the same is the four walls," he said.

The Show Palace actually has a lobby in addition to the huge dance floor, private rooms for fantasy dances and a VIP area. There's also a separate bar for parties and an area for a show for bachelor parties and the like.

"And it's run by professionals," Neela said. "You get great customer service whether you're a VIP or not."

"We're also members of the Tavern League and support the Safe Ride Program," Manager Jim Roddy added.

Neela himself has a degree in hospitality, so he's got the knowledge that goes beyond the norm. Roddy has spent 30 years in the entertainment business from "Rush Street in Chicago to Walworth County." Jim, who also owns Roddy's Liquor Store in Lake Geneva, is well known in the area. A third group of the management team is Antonio Payton who is Coordinator/Entertainment Manager.

The new management also provides a van for transportation to and from the Show Palace that's free for groups in a 15 mile radius, which includes Lake Geneva.

The Show Palace is located on Hwy. 14 just south of Darien. Phone: (262) 882-8000.

When I moved here and found out about this and other places and the Wife and I visited them Only Once to experience it, Like we did in a Trip to Vegas, I wondered why No Casino?

A Casino in Lake Geneva, right on the waterfront..?

Or the Grand Geneva turned into a Casino!

Would Turn Lake Geneva Into another Monte Carlo..

What a Beautifull place that is!

And let's face it people, This really isn't True Wisconsin, over half the HOmes are owned by Chicagoans! and the other Half Owned by Former Chicagoans!

And Most of the Visitors for the Summer come from? Chicagoland..!

Quit Fooling around and Nickel and Dime them for Hihger Parking Fees, etc. and being Hypocrites of having Places like this Place and Not have A Casino..

Even that Old Dog Track Facilty is just been Sitting there Wasting away.. What a Shame..

Classier. Newer. Improved. And still degrading to the women that dance on the pole. Bet the deal was if they bought some advertising in The Resorter they could get some press....after all they are investing in the community by sprucing the place up right? Truly disappointed that something like this counts as news.

You commented that "I have a friend who is mentally callenged and a buddy took him there just to see, well the strippers prayed on him and kept getting more and more high dollars from him to the tune of almost $4500.00 in one night !". You seem to blame the club and dancers for his giving away of $4,500.00 to the dancers. I ask why didn't you or this buddy make sure he didn't have $4,500.00 on him when they went there. Also where did this person get $4,500.00 in the first place? Where does your responsibility and this buddy come in and why would either of you take this person to a club like that if they are challenged as you say? The blame goes to both of you in the first place for taking him there and not the club or dancers.

WB Weekender - Must be nice to be so full of yourself that you can find fault in a newspaper reporting on a local business making improvements. I'll bet you're one of those that thinks the girls working at The Show Palace should work as more respectful job (even though they'd only make about 1/4 what they do there) because it better meet with your approval.

Just a thought, if you want to decide what's news and what isn't, start your own newspaper...

    New Decor....
    February 16, 2012 | 02:06 PM

Hey Mizike....all for the local paper highlighting a local business that is making an effort to expand and do more for the community...but really is the local strip club the business that the local area is most excited to hear about? Doubt it. I can see it now..oh honey I just have to go see that great new paint job at the Show Palace as I read they have really cleaned the place up....I simply could not believe they expected the ladies to dance in such disrepair in the past. I could not take my eyes off the peeling paint and stains on the carpet on my last visit so I certainly look forward to checking out the new decor especially in the VIP room for my private dance...do hope the carpet matches the drapes!

    What's next?
    February 17, 2012 | 12:56 AM

So, WB, the Show Palace doesn't meet your definition of a business that should be reported on when they make improvements? What else shouldn't the LGRN cover, taverns? Liquor stores? Whether you may like it or not, this business is just as worthy as any other. They offer a legal product that people frequent, employ people, and pay taxes, just like all the "worthy" businesses. Let me guess, you would have been against the paper covering the old Playboy Club back in the day because the local area might not have deemed the news exciting?

    The comments are too funny!
    February 20, 2012 | 11:26 AM

Ok kids. Enough baiting (no pun intended). In the United States we still have personal liberties. And where a business like this may offend WB, it entertains others. And it does offer the entertainers a chance to pay for college, a better life, and to responsibly use the gifts they were given.

Maybe others are offended (atheists)by the paper posting church dinners and fund raisers. And others offending by all the liberal coverage. But bottom line is we do have freedom of the press and expression...two things apparent by this article.

WB is probably an Obama supporter and wants the government to control everything and everybody, including the media.

As for the casino. Not sure where you are going with that, but it has been proposed for the vacant dog track. But the government (local) stopped it in its tracks. What a shame, just like the government stopping the oil pipeline from Canada. A few decide for the masses which is bringing us closer to socialism and further from capitalism.

As for the new interior. Yeah, I will go check it out and mention that I read it here first. The place was a dump. And now I can bring visiting business executives there to spend out of town money in a legal way. GREAT for our local economy and the girls!

And for your poor friend. Maybe it was only $45.00. Either way, whoever brought him there was to blame and whoever allowed him to carry such funds. Wake up sheeple.

Does anybody care about the new ownership of that pig pen? What the hell is going on that this is big news for the people of the community? Are there not real issues you so-called reporters can be writing about? This is CRAP!
