The End Zone has long been known as a great place for food and drink.

Now owner Jon Kasnick, who's been the friendly face at the tavern for the last 12 years, is adding even more food choices.

Starting the weekend of March 29-31, the End Zone will feature steaks, pork chops, shiskabobs and chicken. Making this expanded menu possible is the End Zone's new chef, Colton Meisinger who has credentials rarely seen at a neighborhood bar and grill. He attended two culinary schools and worked at Spiaggia and the Witt Hotel, two of Chicago's finer restaurants.

Here's a taste of the End Zone's new improved menu:

• Four types of steak—mushroom and onion, crusted blue cheese, barbecue and vinaigrette.

• Pork chops.

• Quarter chickens. Besides the traditional chicken you can also get it prepared Grecian style, grilled or raspberry barbecue vinaigrette.

• Shiskabobs on a bed of rice with a Cajun flair made with vegetable, steak or chicken.

Those new specialties are served on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4-9 p.m. only.

Prices for these specialties range from $15 for the prime rib to $12 or less for everything else. And all the new menu items include vegetable, baked potato and the End Zone's home-made salad. Another item Kasnick expects will be popular is the World Series Platter for four. It includes chicken, steak and pork chops, served with fries and onion rings in the center.

This Saturday, March 31, there will be classic rock performed by Big Al Wetzel and Friends. It starts at 9. Kasnick says, "come for the food and stay for the show."

If you loved the food you usually get at the End Zone, not to worry. The End Zone's traditional menu including BLTs and specialty burgers is still available.

If you want dinner and a show there's no need to go further than the End Zone. Comedy shows rock the place with laughter the second Sunday of each month. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the End Zone has Sunday cookouts featuring both food and entertainment.

That starts at 1 p.m. with the entertainment an hour later. There will also specials—ribs on Thursdays and either a 12 or 16 ounce prime rib on Saturday. On Sunday Kasnick tries to create an atmosphere perfect for families.

Want to party? The End Zone is available for parties up to 50 people or even more if you plan a buffet. Kasnick says he's happy to put together special packages and even find you live entertainment.

While the End Zone will have these additions to the menu, End Zone's reputation as a sports bar is still in place. There's free pool on Thursdays and free darts on Tuesday night. Sunday is NASCAR night. And a wide variety of sports can be watched on the End Zone's eight, satellite TVs.

The End Zone is located at 4112 Blue Gill Road, on the south shore of Delavan Lake. Their phone number is (262) 728-2420.

Hours are Monday through Thursday, 2 p.m. to 2 a.m; Friday, 2 to 2:30; Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
