Abbey Resort introduces director of operations

David Lindelow, general manager of the Abbey Resort and Avani Spa, has announced the appointment of Michael Lucero to a new position, resort director of operations. Lucero brings 23 years of hospitality experience to the resort from several well-known resorts and entertainment venues throughout the Midwest.

As director of operations, Lucero will oversee all food and beverage operations for the resort's onsite restaurants, lounges, banquet operations and several other key operating departments.

"Michael Lucero has an impressive and expansive resume, with vast experience in the hospitality industry," Lindelow said. "We are extremely pleased to have him join our team as we continue to strive to offer our guests the very best in accommodations and service, as well as four-star cuisine in our dining outlets.

"The Abbey has always been known for excellence in food and beverage operations. Prior to joining the Abbey Resort, Lucero served as general manager and regional vice president for several House of Blues venues, including the live music hall in Chicago, where he oversaw all operations and guest services. Prior to that position, Lucero was the food and beverage director at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa. He also held a corporate sales manager position for the Mission Point Resort in Mackinac Island, Mich., and began his hospitality career at the famed Broadmoor Hotel and Resort in Colorado Springs, Colo. Lucero holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Colorado and continues to reside in the Lake Geneva area with his family.

Located 80 miles from downtown Chicago and 50 miles from Milwaukee, the Abbey Resort and Spa is a treasured and famous icon, nestled on 90 acres of beautifully manicured grounds.
