UPDATE: Badger, Big Foot will host playoff games Tuesday

October 22, 2010 | 05:53 PM
For the two area playoff football teams, it's now win or go home.

But with the WIAA Level 1 playoffs starting Tuesday, both Badger and Big Foot already will be in their respective backyards.

The Badgers (5-4), winners of five straight, will host Janesville Parker (6-3) Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in a Division 1 tilt. Badger (1342 enrollment) will play as the smallest D1 school.

The Chiefs (7-2) will host a familiar foe to start their defense of the Division 4 state title. Lake Mills (5-4), a team Big Foot trounced 35-7 to open the 2009 playoffs, will visit Walworth Tuesday night at 7 p.m. On the opposite end of the spectrum from the Badgers, Big Foot has the largest enrollment in Division 4.

While Badger and Parker had no common opponents this year, Parker lost to three 8-1 squads. Three of Badger's four losses came against playoff teams.

As for Big Foot and Lake Mills, the Chiefs crushed Palmyra-Eagle 35-0. However, Palmyra edged Lake Mills, 14-12, back in August.
