The Time is Now to Help
Reaching a goal to help

I am very happy to announce we have met the S.M. Fall 2010 $10,000 Matching Grant for a total of $20,000. Thank you for your generosity and compassion for your fellow Americans in desperate need. Next week we will show where every penny of the $20,000 was spent.
I would like to share with you a story of how one family's life was affected by The Time Is Now To Help. We have been helping our fellow creations for more than 20 years. In these years we have helped numerous people living in poverty, struggling with disabilities or illness. We do not often know the positive impact we have had on these individuals over the long term. The following story is a long lasting positive impact we helped make.
A young mother was struggling through a difficult pregnancy. The responsibility of this child was too much for the father. He left with no regard for the mother or unborn child. The doctors told the mother, she would not carry the child to full term, there were too many complications. They told her the baby would most likely die during delivery or immediately after. If the baby did not die he would most likely have multiple disabilities. She was already full of love for the child that grew within her. The mother told the doctor and nurses, who were discouraging, that she was praying constantly for God's intervention.
With her faith and strength from God the young mother was able to carry on alone. She did not miscarry but she ended up in the hospital in labor much too early. The doctors tried to prepare her for the worse. They warned her that the baby was much too small to survive. They told her he would most likely be very handicapped or disabled. He would not be able to even breathe on his own. The miraculous tiny baby boy was born.
The baby defied all the odds and survived. The mother was still warned he would have many challenges ahead of him. He continued to surpass the doctor's dire warnings. When old enough, the child went to school. He was struggling to keep up. The mother was told he had a developmental disability. Once again the strong mother refused to accept anything less for her blessed child. Also, the mother met a good man who accepted the boy as his own.
Together through financial hard times, they made a commitment for extra assistance with learning. They married and became a family. Both the mother and father wanted to do what was best for the boy and get him the extra help he needed. They knew they needed professional help. They also were struggling themselves financially. They were in need of a reliable car to get to work. How could they afford extra help for the boy when they were barely making ends meet? This is when this extraordinary family was brought to my attention.
The Time Is Now to Help provided help assistance for her sons educational needs. I have to admit it is not our usual form of assistance. I used my own donated funds to pay for his first session at Sylvan learning center. When the mother admitted to me she did not have a reliable car for work or to drive her son to the learning center I put her on our waiting list for a car. Soon a car was donated, specifically for them. You should have seen the excitement and gratitude for this vehicle. I also provided the father with some extra work to supplement their income. Every time I offered extra work to this loving father, he always accepted the offer and worked very hard. They are hard working fellow Americans willing to put in the time needed to not only help their son, but also to put food on the table and pay the bills.
This young boy grew to a fine young man. We watched him graduate high school, something his doctors would never have believed. He even went on to take classes at a community college and work two part-time jobs. His parents and The Time Is Now To Help are proud of his accomplishments. They have not come easy for him and sometimes tasks can be a challenge. But this young man perseveres and never gives up.
Recently I was working in my office when in walked this young man. I was happy to see him. I gave him a hug as I thanked God for this wonderful young man. He handed me an envelope. When I opened it I saw many bills of different denominations. He told me he had been saving his tips from his job to give to The Time Is Now To Help. My eyes filled with tears, as I held them back, I quickly tried to hand him back the envelope. I told him I could not take his hard earned tips that he collected from change.
He pushed it back to me and said, "No, I read in the Bible about giving and that is what I am doing. I want to help another person that needs help." How could I not accept his heartfelt gift? I gave this fine young man a hug and thanked him for his donation and his God loving attitude. I truly believe his parents devotion, prayers, persistence, and the God loving heart of this wonderful young man brought him to my office all these years later. This young man's donation helped to feed those who otherwise would have gone hungry. This wonderful caring family recently took in a starving, neglected little girl. They are again using their strength and faith to love her back to life. This family keeps giving in the spirit of God, not from their abundance, but from what they have. God Bless them.
I thank all of you for your kindness in Caring & Sharing what you have been blessed with to help our fellow creations. Thank you again for participating in our "S.M. Fall 2010 $10,000 Matching Grant." God Bless you for Caring and Sharing.
Health & Happiness, God Bless Everyone, W.C.
