Thank you to everyone that contributed to our S. M. Fall 2010 $10,000 Matching Grant. We were able to provide $20,000 in much needed assistance to the many struggling poverty stricken in our area. Thanks to your generosity, caring and sharing for your fellow creation, we were able to save many from homelessness and hunger. This year especially has been a rough road for many that used to just get by pay check to pay check. Now we have high unemployment, loss of benefits, and lack of assistance when it is most needed.

Thank you again for Caring & Sharing. Together we make our communities a better place to live.

RENT = $10,329

This was again our largest area of support. It is the number one concern for those writing to The Time Is Now to Help for assistance. People are living in constant fear of losing their apartment or home. Housing assistance is still overwhelmed with requests and our homeless shelter has a long waiting list. Most families have exhausted all other possible assistance before they turn to us. We are often the last step before homelessness, or they are already living that nightmare. Single mothers are terrified for their children's well-being. The children are bewildered over a situation they cannot grasp.

I have offered more emergency housing assistance this year than ever before. We are working hard to keep children in their homes, or at least finding them a safe place to sleep at night. We are trying to give them the time necessary to look for new jobs, or find a new place to move to. The most important thing is we are preventing them from becoming homeless, a fear no fellow creation should have to go through. Now that the elections are over our government needs to stop all the party infighting and get down to business. They need to make representing the American people their number one priority. I see the suffering our fellow creations are going through as they struggle to find jobs and provide for their families.

When I grew up in poverty with my dear Mother, we were evicted several times. I remember as a little boy being confused about what was happening to us. I often found my mother crying when she thought I wasn't watching. I remember trying to comfort my mother with strong, loving hugs. I continued giving her those strong, loving hugs until I lost her over two years ago. Thanks to my Mother I started The Time Is Now to Help as my vow to God to give back.

UTILITIES = Gas: $1,500; Electricity: $3,643; Water: $750

There are many of our neighbors unable to pay their utility bills. Many senior citizens on fixed incomes choose between much needed medications and paying their electric bill. We also had utilities restored to several families that were living without heat, electricity, and water. We paid overdue gas bills that would soon cause several families to be evicted if they continued to go unpaid. For someone choosing between food, rent, and utilities, the utilities are often the first thing to be let go. Together, we have provided many with warmth and light. God Bless you for Caring and Sharing.

FOOD = $2,835.16

Your donations provided 5,263 lbs. of food for the W.C. Family Resource Center. We also provided emergency food assistance to many families living with empty refrigerators and cupboards. Hunger is a very real problem in all communities. The school systems feed many hungry children every day. What do these children eat when they go home at night, on weekends, and holidays? What happens to a senior citizen that must pay for a prescription or buy food? Together, we have eased the pain of hunger for many.

Toilet paper, diapers, sanitary products, tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, and shampoo were provided for those living without. We need to always be thankful to have these products in our homes. I see many people living without them. Please Care and Share so we can continue to help our fellow American's with the most basic needs.

We helped to provide sheets, blankets, and bath towels. We also provided cleaning supplies, light bulbs, smoke detectors, eating utensils, pots, pans, and other daily necessities. Thank you for helping those in need.

TRANSPORTATION = Repairs: $375.84

We had a car repaired for a hard working single mother that could never have afforded this in her budget. We also had a donated car repaired and prepared for its new owner. You have no idea how much of a relief a reliable car can provide for people struggling daily with transportation concerns. It can cause the loss of a good job. It can be dangerous and costly to the drivers breaking down on the side of the road. Together, as American's we need to help one another through these hard times.

TOTAL: $20,000

The Time Is Now to Help, and the many families, seniors, handicapped, and children we helped, are extremely thankful for all you have provided. Thanks to the S.M. Fall 2010 $10,000 Matching Grant, matched with another $10,000 by our Caring and Sharing donors, we have eased the pain of poverty for many. We have kept people in their homes, with the lights, water, and heat on, and food on the table. Our many neighbors in need are thankful for your generosity and Caring and Sharing.

Every penny you donated, 100%, has been put to work to assist the poverty stricken with the daily necessities of life: food, utilities (gas, electric & water), shelter, toiletries, household necessities, and car repairs. Together we were able to make a remarkable difference in all the lives we touched. I thank all of you, and the God loving providers of the S.M. Fall 2010 $10,000 Matching Grant, for your support to The Time Is Now to Help. Together we make a big difference helping our fellow creations of God.
