As what some predict to be a historic snow storm begins, Lake Geneva City Administrator Dennis Jordan declared a snow emergency Tuesday morning, Feb. 1.
The city is under a snow emergency from noon Tuesday until noon Thursday, Feb. 3.
Jordan said this means people shouldn't park their vehicles on downtown streets so the Street Department has room to remove snow.
"It could be anything from 16 to 24 inches, depending on how much settles over us," Jordan said.
He said he expects Street Department plows to begin clearing the streets at the end of the business day Tuesday.
For more information, contact the department at (262) 248-6644 or City Hall, 248-3673.
This Much Snow on roofs is not a good thing.. Try to Get them Cleaned off, at least the 1st couple of Feet from your Gutters and up on the roof.
I would assume They should be using double Snow Plows.. 1 following the Other..? and spreading Alot of sand and Salt mix.. and running 3 drivers per truck in 8 hr shifts. With Tow Trucks following us, to tow out any vehicles in the way.. Added the garbage trucks with Plows for Clean up work.. That's the way we used to do it in Streets and Sans..
And snowmobilers Volunteer your sleds to the PD and Anyothers for Emergency ..
Snow shoveling? In 15 min Increments max.. with 1/2 hr rest periods in between
No reason to go to work.. everything is Closed anyway.. only necessary services need the help to get those people into work.. Hospitals, Police, FD, etc. Humvee owners> Volunteeer your Vehicle and Trucks with Plows to volunteer to plow for the Area..no need to plow driveways, roads are either closed or too dangerous to travel on...for at least next 24-36 hrs..
Get ready for it.. - They had to Spend the rest of their Winter Budget for OTimg costs -They ill either have to take $ from other Budgets and reduce them or -Issue a One Time Added tax to the RE taxes to pay for this
This storm could not have happened at a worse time.. with the economy the way it is..
Just Pray The Power ( WE) Stays on..

SHOULDN'T? You mean Can't.. Just issue an emergency and ban all Non Emergency Vehicles ...Or do you want another nitemare like it was the last time we had a Big storm and it took the city 5 days to clean the streets up for parking, etc..and cost the Businesses major losses..?
SB? No vehciles allowed to park on the main streets..any that do? Subject to being Towed and $100 fines..
