What is Lake Geneva missing?

February 26, 2014 | 09:13 AM

Live theater venue with a classic-children's free film matinee on Sunday afternoons. A real soda fountain inside a throwback burger joint. A pancake and wafffle house. A German restaurant with oompah bands on weekends and polka dancing. Slow cooked and rubbed BBQ rib and soul food hole-in-the wall with food served on paper plates. An all night private wine or whiskey and cigar club. A parasailing service. A go-cart track. A large sailing yacht for with excursions like Elmer Zingle used to offer. A children's indoor/outdoor adventure and discovery playland area with a pizzeria and gourmet hotdog stand attached. A twisted tour of haunted locations, murder spots, burial grounds and werewolf sighting tour with stops at orchards and wineries. An officially sanctioned, Wisconsin tavern owner's association pub crawl on winter weekends (when things are dead), with hotel lodging within walking distance, and live bands at each bar's rest stop. Restarting the original Miss Lake Geneva beauty pageant to compete in the Wisconsin national finals. A chili, cheese, BBQ or beer contest and annual awards festival (pick one), with national ties (like ice sculpting, but in the summer sun)... I could go on, but who's going to read all of this anyway?
