Dear Joe Taxpayer,

You recently asked the question: "What kind of computer today costs $4,000, you can buy a nice laptop for $1,200."
Answer: Panasonic Toughbooks cost around $4,000 new. These are ruggedized laptops, some with displays that you can read in sunlight, that are moisture proof, and can survive an accidental drop to a hard surface. Your $1,200 home/office laptop wouldn't survive such treatment. Cheap is not always the best.
