They're someone's kids? That's the best argument? The current prisons are filled with "someone's kids" too, doesn't change the accuracy of the statement regarding the crowd that will be hanging out there.

Once again, the difference between places like the Riv and Punk Park is the attraction factor. People who flock here in the summer do so because of facilities like the Riv and our various real parks. While they may not bring in tax dollars, they are responsible for economic revenue for the city and it's businesses.

Another point that's been brought up in past comments about this disgrace, just because something may be "popular" and a small segment may partake doesn't mean the city has any business financing it. I'm sure there would be plenty of people who would love to have the city supply free archery targets, shooting ranges, ice skating rinks, golf course, etc. They would have just as much right to demand these things as the little hooligans, so why not?

BTW, there were more than a few maybe's in that last segment. If I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on any of them....
