The Fall Summertime Foundation $10,000 Matching Grant = $20,000 Poverty Assistance

Thank you to everyone that contributed to The Fall Summertime Foundation $10,000 Matching Grant. This matching grant enabled us to provide $20,000 in assistance to many struggling poverty stricken fellow Americans. As families all over the United States sat down to a delicious Thanksgiving meal, many went hungry. As the weather becomes colder, many senior citizens, handicapped, and children face possible eviction and/or are living without utilities. So many people are unable to have their cars repaired and face loss of their job. Your donations, combined with The Summertime Foundation's generous matching funds, prevented many from facing great hardship. Thank you for your continued support of our mission The Time Is Now to Help and thank you for Caring & Sharing. Together we have eased the pains of poverty for our fellow creations. God Bless you for helping.

RENT = $6,789.54

We assisted several single mothers struggling to raise their children without any support from the fathers. Car repairs and medical emergencies had caused them to use their budgeted rent funds. If a mother cannot get to her job due to her car needing a costly repair, then she may lose her job.

We assisted several people already evicted with emergency housing. There is nothing more frightening for most people than living in their car, or even worse on the street, especially with winter approaching. The homeless shelter is full and has a waiting list. Rental assistance has a long waiting list. Your compassion provided a warm safe bed.

Several families were dealing with job loss and one was facing a medical emergency. They would have been evicted if we hadn't stepped in to pay their rent. We moved a family with six children from a condemned trailer to a new clean apartment, with heat, appliances.

There are many reasons for homelessness, and it affects people in all walks of life. An illness, accident, job loss, tragedy, is all it takes to put any of our fellow creation in this position. We were able to alleviate some of the stress and suffering for these people, and the children and elderly that depend on them.

UTILITIES = $1,050.00 Gas: $750.00 Electric: $300

My heart breaks when I walk into a cold dark home. We assisted two families with overdue utility bills. As we get deeper into our Midwest winter I will find these conditions more and more, and more funding will be applied to this category. People will try to layer on clothing because they know they will be unable to pay a large utility bill. Thank you for your Caring and Sharing to keep these two struggling families in warm homes.

FOOD = $2,000

We provided emergency food assistance to many families living with empty refrigerators and cupboards. Unemployment and illness also affect many families' abilities to provide food for their children. Senior citizens go hungry in order to pay for prescription medications and rent. Together, we have eased the pain of hunger.

We paid for two very necessary car repairs. We purchased a like new older vehicle for a large family. We also assisted nine people with gas cards. Since gas prices are still very high many people struggle with their daily commute to work. We help our neighbors keep their jobs. Thank you for making this assistance possible through your generous support of The Time Is Now to Help.

Beds = $1,730

Eight beds were provided for those in great need. When I visited these people in need I was shocked at the condition of their beds. They were complaining of back pain and I could see why. Several children were sharing old furniture being used as beds. Your donations provided much needed beds. In fact when the children saw their new beds they were so happy they all went to lay on them immediately. The adults cried when they saw theirs. Such a simple need a bed is, yet imagine how appreciated it is when you have none.

Appliances = $606.92

Your donations provided a senior citizen with a washer and dryer. The senior woman had been hand washing her laundry in the bath tub for years. Her arthritis and limited mobility was making that impossible, so her hygiene was suffering. I wish I could share with you the look on her face when she had her first washer and dryer in years. Her face beamed as happy tears fell.

Household Necessities = $1,095.25

Sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, plates, pans, small appliances, cleaning supplies, etc. were supplied. Some people had lost everything. I never forget the little girl who hugged her first pillow. Cleaning supplies are needed to keep a safe, hygienic home for these families. Two vacuums were purchased for families that did not have one. Many people try to keep an orderly home even when they are living under the worst conditions.

Toiletries = $785

Toilet paper, soap, shampoo, tooth paste, dental floss, feminine hygiene, diapers, and many other items were distributed to ease the pains of poverty. Many of these people are working, or going to job interviews, and they do not want to appear unclean. Personal hygiene is a necessity, yet most products are very expensive. The Time is Now to Help assists them with this financial burden. How sad to be unable to afford toiletries in 2011 in our great U.S.A.

Clothing = $390.75

Children were in need of clothing, shoes, and coats. Parents were in need of proper clothing for work. Thank you for your generosity.

Household Repairs = $553.04

We assisted with two families furnace repairs. They would have struggled this winter without the work needed on their furnaces. Now these two families will be warm this winter due to your caring and sharing.
