WALWORTH — Someone might be OK with missing a few days of work.

One lucky LaGrange Park, Ill., woman is $250,000 richer after buying a winning ticket at the Walworth BP, 112 S. Main St.

The record $640 million Mega Millions jackpot attracted a lot of people to the gas station, owner Jesse Singh said.

"It was an extremely busy day for lottery," he said. "It was extraordinary event. We saw so many new faces that day it was unbelievable."

Wisconsin Lottery spokesman Andrew Bohage said Judith McFarland came by the Milwaukee lottery office on Monday afternoon to collect her winnings.

After taxes, McFarland walked away with $168,125.

According to a press release from the Wisconsin Lottery, at least one person matched all six winning numbers on the March 30 jackpot.

The winning ticket was sold in Maryland.

In Wisconsin, three $250,000 tickets were sold. The winning tickets were sold in Walworth, Richfield and Eau Claire. Wisconsin also had 13 $10,000 winners.

Bohage said the Walworth BP also received $5,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The store that sells the winning ticket receives 2 percent of the sale, with a maximum of $100,000.

Singh said this isn't the first big winner he has had at his gas station.

"We had a $50,000 winner just before Christmas on an instant ticket," he said.

Singh believes selling a winning ticket will help his gas station.

"I believe so, we get so much recognition. A lot of people came talking to us about the winning ticket," he said. "We just got a big sign from the lottery this morning, which we have posted in our window. So it is a beautiful experience. It puts us on the map, that there is a station in Walworth.

Friday night's winning Mega Millions numbers were 02, 04, 23, 38 and 46, with a Mega Ball of 23. The Megaplier prize multiplier was 03.

Wisconsin sold $9.3 million worth of Mega Millions tickets. On Friday, $6.2 million were sold.
