John R. Powers, 67, Lake Geneva, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at his residence. Services at 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Chapel on the Hill. Visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of services at the church. The Steinke Funeral Home, Lake Geneva, assisted the family with arrangements.

1901: Adolph Rupp, basketball coach at the University of Kentucky who achieved a record 876 victories.
