Woman who impersonated DA receives jail time

ELKHORN — A Linn Township woman who attempted to keep her boyfriend out of legal trouble by impersonating a Walworth County prosecutor was sentenced Sept. 30 to three years of probation. As a condition of her probation, Michelle E. Irwin, 42, N1189 Highway 120, will have to spend four months in jail with work release privileges. Irwin pleaded guilty to two counts of misappropriate identification information.

Walworth man arrested for child pornography

September 29, 2011
A state law enforcement agency raided a Walworth man's home Aug. 18 and allegedly found child pornography, but couldn't find the suspected owner for about three weeks. Alex N. Pepper, 115 Weber St., faces a felony charge of possession of child pornography and, if convicted, faces up to 25 years imprisonment and $100,000 in fines. Pepper is currently in custody in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond.

Man receives 5 years for role in Walworth shooting

September 29, 2011
ELKHORN — A 19-year-old man who set up a drug deal that turned into a shooting was sentenced Friday to five years in a state prison. Corey Moore-Morrison, of Janesville, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of robbery with use of force and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. After he is released from jail, he will serve two years of extended supervision.
