Lyons man faces sexual assault charge

A 19-year-old Lyons man faces multiple felony charges in two Wisconsin counties for sexually assaulting a child younger than 13. In Walworth County, Brandon J. Collins, 5902 Christine Court, has been charged with first-degree sexual assault and sexual assault of a child under the age of 16. If convicted, he faces up to 100 years imprisonment and $100,000 in fines.

Former coach faces sexual assault charges

DELAVAN — Shane S. McKinley, 27, a former Williams Bay High School girls junior varsity basketball coach, who allegedly had sexual contact with a 16-year-old student, will reappear before a Walworth County judge on Jan. 6. McKinley was arrested Dec. 21 by Delavan police for sexual assault of a child and engaging in repeated acts of sexual assault of the same child, said Walworth County District Attorney Phil Koss. Koss said his office will have a written complaint ready for the Jan. 6 hearing. At a Dec. 22 hearing, Koss said the victim, a 16-year-old member of the junior varsity team, told authorities that she and McKinley had sexual contact about 20 times over the past year.

Drug unit arrest pair for selling heroin

WALWORTH — Two Walworth residents who were allegedly dealing heroin were arrested after a four-month investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff's Office. Alan D. Messier, 27, and Bethany A. Adler, 22, were arrested during a Dec. 22 traffic stop in the town of Walworth. The arrests stem from law enforcement spending numerous hours of surveillance on the pair and using a confidential informant to purchase heroin from them, according to a Dec. 23 press release from the Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit.
