Lake Geneva boy faces bail jumping charge

A 17-year-old Lake Geneva boy, who was free on a sexual assault charge, faces a felony bail jumping charge after he allegedly ran away from a police officer. Charlie Najera-Diaz, 812 Madison St., also was charged with misdemeanor obstructing an officer. If convicted of all counts, Najera-Diaz faces up to 46 years and nine months imprisonment and $120,000 in fines.

Illinois inmate faces charges

An Illinois inmate faces criminal charges in Walworth County after allegedly breaking into several homes in 2010. Vernon E. Nease, 38, of Canton, faces felony charges of burglary, theft of a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of mistreating animals. If convicted of all the charges, Nease faces up to 44 years and three months imprisonment and $95,000 in fines.

Couple faces felony drug charges

ELKHORN — A Geneva Township couple face felony charges after they allegedly had a 13-year-old assist them in a marijuana growing operation. Allen D., 48, and Terri L. Miles, 44, face felony charges of manufacturing marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The charges against Allen have been elevated to repeater status because of prior felony convictions.

Elkhorn man faces 10 felonies

After fingerprints linked him to a burglary, a 24-year-old Elkhorn man, who already had pending criminal charges, now faces a total of 10 felonies. In three separate cases, Anthony J. Chiapusio, 5441 Schmidt Road, faces criminal charges. In the most recent case, Chiapusio faces felony charges of theft of a firearm and burglary while arming himself with a dangerous weapon. After allegedly breaking into storage units, Chiapusio faces six counts of burglary. In another case, he faces charges of fleeing and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Man allegedly hurt passengers in crash

March 08, 2012
After allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a tree, a 22-year-old Delavan man faces three felony counts for injuries that reportedly happened to passengers in his vehicle. David Gerald Scott Michalosky, 2317 Prairie View Dr., faces three felony counts of operating while intoxicated causing injury, second and subsequent offense. If convicted of all counts, Michalosky faces up to 18 years imprisonment and $30,000 in fines.

Walworth man receives probation for heroin possession

March 08, 2012
On March 8, a 54-year-old Walworth man was sentenced to two years of probation after he pleaded guilty of possession of heroin with intent to deliver. Steven D. Adams, 124 Plafield Ct., Apt. A, received a withheld sentence, which means if he violates the terms of his probation the judge can give him a new sentence. Adams also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
