|  | | |  | | (click for larger version) | July 12, 2012TOWN OF DELAVAN — A Wonder Lake, Ill., woman was allegedly intoxicated May 23 when she hit a 10-year-old girl riding a bicycle at the Shell Gas Station with her Ford Escape. After the crash, the woman left the scene.
When town of Delavan police arrived gas station on Highway 50 they saw a pink bicycle in the parking lot with eight-to-10 foot-long scratch marks on the pavement where the bike had been pushed, according to the criminal complaint.
Marium Lidia Ibarra, 19, 7711 Beach Road, faces felony charges of second-degree reckless endangerment and hit and run causing injury.  |
|  | | |  | | (click for larger version) | July 12, 2012ELKHORN — A former volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization faces a new felony charge for sexual assaults that allegedly occurred at his home in LaFayette Township.
Rodney J. Meiller, 51, appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon.
He now faces three counts of repeated sexual assault of a child. All three felonies carry a maximum sentence of 60 years, which each carries a maximum sentence of 40 years of initial confinement and 20 years of extended supervision.  |
|  | | |  | | (click for larger version) | July 12, 2012ELKHORN — After his arrest for domestic abuse, a 30-year-old Black Earth man allegedly collected unemployment checks while incarcerated at the Walworth County Jail.
On June 28, the Walworth County District Attorney's Office filed three misdemeanor theft charges against Michael D. Hatton, 1138 Mills St. Each misdemeanor count carries a maximum penalty of nine months in jail and $10,000 in fines.
The domestic abuse charges stem from an incident in which Hatton allegedly threatened to run over a woman with his van and chased her with a knife. |
|  | | |  | | (click for larger version) | July 12, 2012ELKHORN — The criminal proceedings against a 67-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting two young girls are on hold after he was found not competent to stand trial.
David L. Burdick, 353 Tyrrell Court, No. 313, Delavan, was charged with two counts of repeated sexual assault of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 120 years imprisonment.
Burdick knew the alleged victims. One of the alleged victims was 4, and the other was 8 when the assaults allegedly began.  |
|  | | |  | | (click for larger version) | July 12, 2012ELKHORN — A burglar who robbed a home and storage units was sentenced to five years probation July 5 by Judge John Race.
Anthony J. Chiapusio, 5441 Schmidt Road, Elkhorn, pleaded guilty April 26 to felony charges of fleeing, three counts of burglary and one count of burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon.
As a condition of Chiapusio's probation, he must serve one year in the jail with work release privileges. He also must pay restitution, which exceeds $40,000.  |

The case involved a 22-year-old woman who broke into a home where several firearms were stolen and traded for heroin in Chicago.
"I can say, however, that this offense is a very grave one," Grube said. "And I believe she is just missing prison."  |
