Heroin dealer gets 4 years in prison

A 45-year-old Bloomfield man, who was arrested twice in 2012 for selling heroin, was sentenced to four years in a state prison Feb. 6 by Judge John Race. Randal L. Bass, W1726 Litchfield Road, pleaded guilty Nov. 21 to felony charges of bail jumping, delivering heroin, possession of heroin with intent to deliver and theft of movable property. His sentences matched an earlier agreement reached by Assistant District Attorney Zeke Wiedenfeld and defense attorney Frank Lettenberger.

Jury convicts man of 4 counts of sexual assault

A Walworth County jury found a 26-year-old Washington state man guilty of four counts of sexual assault. In June 2012, Matthew L. Dennis fondled a 13-year-old girl at a beach and a private residence in Walworth County. Dennis denied to police that he touched the girl, according to court documents.

Man faces ninth OWI

Man faces ninth OWIAfter crashing his vehicle into a pole, a Pell Lake man faces his ninth drunken driving offense. If convicted, Bruno C. Moelter, 55, N1333 Clover Road, faces up to 10 years imprisonment and $25,000 in fines. The charge carries a minimum penalty of three years imprisonment.

Madison man sent to prison

February 14, 2013
A 31-year-old Madison man was sentenced Feb. 13 to three years in prison after he had sex with a 14-year-old Walworth County girl. Andrew J. Hying, 754 Engelhart Drive, pleaded guilty Dec. 12 to a felony charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child. Hying's sentence also includes three years of extended supervision.
