May 09, 2013A former Williams Bay JV basketball coach was sentenced this afternoon to 10 years in prison for a sexual relationship he had with a student.
After serving the prison sentence, Shane S. McKinley, 28, now of Texas, will spend five years on extended supervision. He also must register as a sex offender.
During an emotional hearing, two girls talked about having a sexual relationship with McKinley when they were underage. The girls said McKinley was verbally abusive and manipulating.

May 09, 2013A 34-year-old Lake Geneva man, who bit a town of Geneva police officer in the hand Oct. 1 at Mercy Walworth Medical Center, was sentenced April 10 to three years of probation.
Dennis R. Coulman, 1165 S. Wells St. No. 5, pleaded guilty Feb. 13 to felony bail jumping and battery to law enforcement officers.
As a condition of his probation, Coulman must serve nine months in jail with work-release privileges. The judge also ordered Coulman to pay $25,988 in restitution. ...subscribers>>
May 09, 2013A 21-year-old Waukegan, Ill., man faces four felony marijuana charges.
Matthew C. Oliva was arrested after he allegedly sold the drug to a confidential informant in the city of Lake Geneva.
Oliva faces three felony counts of delivering marijuana and one count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. If convicted of the felonies, Oliva faces up to 14 years imprisonment and $40,000 in fines....subscribers>>
May 09, 2013A 27-year-old Lake Geneva man was sentenced to two years of probation April 19 after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possession of a narcotic drug.
Ryan G. Lempel, 801 S. Wells St., Upper Unit, also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer.

May 09, 2013A 20-year-old Delavan man was sentenced to four months in jail with work release privileges for his role in thefts from the East Delavan Union Cemetery Association.
Matthew O. Soukup, 706 Faryl Ave., No. 12, also was sentenced to 40 hours of community service, which he already completed. Soukup is eligible to have his record expunged if he successfully completes his sentence. He pleaded guilty to a felony charge of identity theft for financial gain.

Voltz, 318 Howard St., has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of sexual exploitation of a child. Pastor found not guiltyMay 02, 2013ELKHORN — A Walworth County jury cleared a former pastor of any wrongdoing after law enforcement officials accused him of failing to notify authorities of sexual assaults occurring between young boys.Joseph R. Fultz, 49, now of Milton, was the pastor at Grace Evangelical Church in the village of Walworth. Prosecutors said underage parishioners at the church engaged in sexual activity amongsst themselves. No adults are suspected, or were ever accused, of having sexual contact with children. Certain professionals, social workers, teachers and members of the clergy are legally required to report suspected child abuse or neglect. Authorities said Fultz knew of the allegations of sexual misconduct and needed to notify law enforcement.Defense attorney Michael Witt, who represented Fultz in the case, didn’t return a phone message to the Regional News for comment. Assisant District Attorney Haley Rea shared her thoughts about why the jury may have reached its verdict.
