Anderson awaits sentencing, jury trial for bail jumpingMay 30, 2013A woman who received nearly a half a million dollars in stolen money is sitting in jail without bond as she awaits a sentencing hearing and a possible prison sentence.
And to make matters worse for the woman, she has another jury trial set for June 13, and, if convicted of those charges, she faces even more time behind bars.
Joanne M. Anderson, 50, now of Kentucky, was found guilty by a Walworth County jury May 22 of receiving stolen property.
May 30, 2013A 19-year-old Pell Lake man is accused of burglarizing three homes.
Joseph E. Glover, 19, faces three counts of burglary.

Man guilty of multiple armed robberiesMay 23, 2013ELKHORN — A 26-year-old Elgin, Ill., man who was part of a group that was responsible for multiple armed robberies in Wisconsin and Illinois pleaded guilty May 7 to three felony charges in Walworth County Circuit Court.Terrance Cortez Walker Jr. is scheduled to be sentenced June 27. Each felony count of armed robbery carries a maximum penalty of $100,000 in fines and 40 years imprisonment. Walker was arrested in 2009. Walker and others were arrested in connection with an armed robbery ring that was linked to more than 20 thefts.
Subcontractor avoids prison in theft caseMay 23, 2013A 37-year-old Pell Lake subcontractor was sentenced May 13 to four years of probation after he used money meant for materials on personal expenses.Jason Bader, W192 Tulip Drive, is the owner of J & J Sealcoating. As a condition of his probation, Bader must serve six months in jail with work-release privileges. He also must pay $103,423 in restitution.

Donald A. Monroe, 18, and Matthew Monroe, 17, both of W932 Pell Lake Drive, have been charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property and theft. If convicted of all counts both men face up to 14 years imprisonment and $45,000 in fines.
