Former janitor arrested
May 08, 2014

A 68-year-old former Badger High School janitor was arrested on May 1 and is being held in the Walworth County jail on suspicion of sexual assault of a student by school staff.
According to online records, Alfredo Sandoval is being held in the Walworth County jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
His next court appearance is scheduled for May 9 at 1:15 p.m.
Lake Geneva Police Lt. Edward Gritzner said police were called to Badger High School at about 3:55 p.m. on May 1.
“The reported assault happened inside of the school,” Gritzner said. “The male was confronted by the school staff, and we did arrest him and confined him in the Walworth Couny jail on that charge.”

Gritzner said because of the sensitive nature of the case he couldn’t release any more information.
Online court records also indicate that conditions of Sandoval’s bond include no contact with Badger High School or its students, no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18 and no contact with a specific 17-year-old. Badger High School District Administrator Jim Gottinger said he couldn’t release much information because the “matter is under investigation.”
“We are working cooperatively with the LGPD in this matter,” Gottinger said in an email. Gottinger said that Sandoval was a part-time custodian who worked at the school for 2 1/2 years, but is no longer employed by the district.

A former Bloomfield man, who was sent to prison last year for child abuse, is now accused of sexually assaulting two young children.
Berne P. Moran, an inmate at the Red Granite Correctional Institute, faces two counts of repeated sexual assault of a child.
If convicted of those charges, the 51-year-old faces up to 120 years imprisonment.

The girl told police that her back hurt her so much she couldn’t bend over to tie her shoes.
In the new case, Judge David Reddy set a $25,000 cash bond.
According to the criminal complaint:
In September 2013, two children, a 9-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, were interviewed by forensic interviewer Paula Hocking at the Walworth County Tree House in Elkhorn.
