BREAKING: Kopp shoots down Comets with late three

February 03, 2011
Maybe it just wasn't Emma Kopp's night. After all, the Delavan-Darien defense held the Badger junior guard scoreless for the first 16 minutes Friday. What's more is Kopp suffered a sprained ankle before the game in warm-ups. But when it mattered most, Kopp, as all great players do, allowed adrenaline and a will to win carry her when the Lady Badgers needed her most.

February 03, 2011
It came down to the last match last Thursday night. With the Badger wrestling squad trailing 30-25 at home to Elkhorn, all senior Dylan Peter had to do was pin Rory Johnson for the win. Not exactly an easy task, considering Johnson's weight advantage. But Peter rose to the occasion, pinning Johnson in 3:10 to lift the Badgers to a 31-30 victory against their Southern Lakes rival. Badger improved to 4-2 in the SLC with the win, jumping into a tie with Elkhorn.

Sports Check: A semi-pro football tryout

January 20, 2011
Everything about Sunday morning was unorthodox. It started with me, a 28-year-old, mostly out of shape, former quarterback, waking up at the crack of dawn and driving 30 minutes to Williams Bay from Burlington. What I did at Williams Bay High School at 9 a.m. was for the love of journalism but could be construed by outsiders as straight-up crazy.
