Lake Geneva man receives four years prison for sexual assault on child

A 23-year-old Lake Geneva man was sentenced to four years in a state prison after he was found guilty of having sex with child under the age of 16.

After Jose Alejandro Gonzalez, 108 W. Laurie St., is released from a state prison, he will spend four years on extended supervision.

A codefendant, Jamie A. Serna, 26, pleaded guilty Aug. 18 to a felony charge of sexual assault of a child under the age of 16. When Serna is sentenced Oct. 27, he faces up to 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaints: On Feb. 23, two girls, ages 14 and 13, went to the Lake Geneva Police Department and reported being sexually assaulted by older men at a city residence.

On Feb. 21, Serna allegedly assaulted the 13-year-old girl, and Gonzalez allegedly assaulted the 14-year-old girl.

The girls reported spending the night at the residence and were assaulted again the next day.
