A 20-year-old Lyons man was sentenced Jan. 4 to six years in prison for sexually assaulting two girls.

Brandon J. Collins, 5902 Christine Court, also was sentenced to six years of extended supervision.

On Nov. 2 Collins pleaded guilty to felony charges of repeated sexual assault of a child, first-degree sexual assault of a child, second-degree sexual assault of a child and bail jumping.

Felony charges of child sexploitation, possession of child pornography, second-degree recklessly endangering safety and bail jumping were dismissed but considered during sentencing.

Collins faced criminal charges in both Racine and Walworth counties.

However, in September, the cases were consolidated to Racine.

Collins has already served about seven months in jail and will be credited that time toward his prison sentence.

According to the criminal complaint in Walworth County:

On Sept. 1, 2011, Collins touched a 12-year-old girl in a car parked in front of the Ye Olde Hotel Bar and Restaurant, town of Lyons.

On Dec. 1, 2011, the girl reported the sexual assault to police.
