Attorney general: LG man had child porn

May 02, 2013

In an email press release Tuesday morning, the state’s Attorney General’s office announced that a Lake Geneva resident has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography.

David L. Tarlo, 41, 415 Cass St. is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 2:30 pm in Walworth County.

According to the criminal complaint, an Apple iMac computer reportedly used by the defendant was turned over to the Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) after images consistent with child pornography were discovered on the computer.

A DCI criminal analyst reported that most of the pictures of child pornography located on the computer were viewed in November and December of 2009 and in March of 2011, according to the complaint.

In an interview with a DCI special agent, Tarlo admitted to recognizing some of the images found on the computer and admitted to searching for “young girls” on the Internet, according to the press release.

The Lake Geneva Police Department and Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted in this investigation, are members of Wisconsin’s ICAC Task Force.
