Tenth year of Driehaus $30,000 grant

by Sal Dimiceli

September 19, 2013

We are very happy to announce that The Richard H. Driehaus Charitable Lead Trust is providing The Time Is Now to Help with a $30,000 Matching Grant opportunity beginning immediately.

This is the 10th year Richard Driehaus and his family have so generously provided this wonderful opportunity for our donors and recipients of assistance. For ten years Richard Driehaus has provided desperately needed help to our poverty stricken families, senior citizens, disabled, and children. We are extremely grateful to Richard, his family, and all of you for making our world a better place for the many people turning to The Time Is Now to Help for poverty assistance.

Every dollar you donate will be doubled, matched by another from Richard, to ease the pains of poverty. God Bless Richard and all of you for helping.

This matching grant could not have come at a more critical time.

Some of our fellow Americans are finding jobs, but are only able to earn wages too low to survive on.

Health care costs and disabilities drive everyone from children to senior citizens into poverty. We have many letters pleading for our help. Homelessness, hunger, lack of transportation, loss of utilities, the pain and suffering of poverty are a problem throughout our country. Shame and fear are felt by many of our fellow creations. We are often the last chance for any hope. They are all waiting for us to have the funds available so we can offer the assistance they need.

Richards matching grant opportunity, the Richard H. Driehaus Charitable Lead Trust, and your compassionate generosity will help ease many pains of poverty.

Some of the many letters we have received carry the same desperate message we hear week after week. Here are some quotes:

We are hungry and our electric is disconnected.

I am working two jobs at minimum wage. I live in my car because I could not pay my rent.

My husband of fifteen years left me and our children. My one income leaves me short on our electric bill. They are disconnecting our electric this week..Please help.

I am struggling with a terrible illness. My disability payment has been lowered and now I cannot pay my utilities. This is so stressful, on top of trying to care for myself and fight this crippling disease.

I am 78-years-old. My husband died three years ago. I am all alone. My house is falling apart and I cannot pay my utilities. Can you help me?

My car broke down and I had to pay for the repairs. If I did not get it fixed I would not be able to keep my job. Now I do not have enough money to pay my rent. Please help.

My fourteen year old daughter is suffering in terrible pain from her teeth. I do not have any credit or money for a dentist. We do not have any dental insurance. I feel like a terrible mother because I cannot provide dental care for my daughter.

These are just a small sampling of the letters we read each day. I feel overwhelming guilt each time I have to set aside a letter, knowing the pain and suffering contained in that envelope, due to not having enough funds to provide the needed assistance. Thanks to this matching grant opportunity we will be able to answer those cries for help. Together, we will remove the pains of poverty and replace them with tears of joy and gratitude.

I am grateful for all the help you have provided so far this year. We have made a real difference in the lives of many poverty stricken. Together, we will continue to replace the fear, pain and suffering of poverty, with compassion, healing, Caring and Sharing with our hearts to change lives. Thank you for helping us achieve Gods good works for those in desperate need.

Health and happiness,

God bless everyone,
