FONTANA — After 12 years of serving as Fontana village administrator, Kelly Hayden submitted her resignation early Wednesday morning.
Hayden said she was offered the director of finance position for the city of Delavan.
“It’s all new,” Hayden said. “We haven’t caught our breath yet. I wanted to make sure I was able to talk to the board.”
Hayden’s last day is Dec. 7, based on a clause in her contract mandating she give the village 60-days notice before leaving.
“I really don’t know much yet about how the village will find a replacement,” Hayden said. “It’s not something that we’ve talked about yet.”
Village President Arvid “Pete” Petersen said he had spoken to Hayden and read her resignation letter.
“We don’t all know how we’ll move forward,” he said.
Petersen declined to comment further on the matter “until meeting with the board.”
