I agree the public teachers not only here constantly whine about how bad and under paid they are. Well my response is this. When they decided to become teachers didn't they know all the ins and outs of what being a teacher was all about? I mean really this argument about teachers has been an ongoing thing for decades. Everytime they get an increase it is never enough and the standard cry is " THE QUALITY OF YOUR KIDS EDUCATION WILL DIMINISH IF WE DON'T GET THE INCREASE ". I am sorry if the only way the kids will be educated is by throwing money at it then we have a serious problem of poor quality teachers. The same is true for other public workers it is never enough and they use the same cry of " YOUR SERVICES WILL DIMINISH IF WE DON'T GET THE INCREASE". I'm sorry but the snow plowing never gets better, roads don't get repaired better, garbage doesn't get picked up better, etc, etc, etc.
Another thing about union workers. Has anyone really thought about this, when the union negotiates an increase in pay and benefits they also increase the dues owed to the union. So in reality the increase in wages is eaten up by union dues. So where is the big gain?
It is time this playing field is leveled out for everyone instead of being titled in favor of union workers.
