A Tragic Loss

My heart and prayers go out to the family and friends of this poor boy. Having lost my own grandfather to a drunk driver, as well as a young family friend who was expecting her first child, I find myself grieving them anew each time I hear of another senseless death.
I am glad to hear he was given the maximum sentence. But really, 7 years in exchange for 60+? And all the lives this has touched? It hardly seems just. Sentences need to be harsher. People need to realize when the get behind the wheel, they are operating a deadly machine and that they will be held responsible for the results of their driving!
