You can't be serious...

How is a skate park different than a improvements to baseball and football fields? Are you serious?
Take your average baseball diamond. How many baseball and softball leagues does the average city town have? More than a couple and chances are those leagues pay the city a fee to use them. Exactly how does this "park" make money for the city? It doesn't.
Just because some fringe sport is popular doesn't mean the city and the taxpayers need to subsidize or support it. Maybe by your logic we should allow cock fighting because it may be popular amongst a certain segment of the population.
I predict this little experiment will produce more than it's fair share if problems, after all, when you have a pile of s**t, don't be surprised when you get a stink....
