Summer Weed Cleanup!
May 24, 2012 | 08:11 AM

I have decided to have a fund raiser to help with the costs of a shoreline lake cleanup. Here is how this is going to work. I will be coming to all lakefront homes and asking for donations. Those people who want their shoreline cleaned up, should donate something, either food, or cash. All proceeds above the cost of the cleanup will go to the food pantry. I will also be contacting the town for additional funding, and hopefully a dump truck, along with somewhere to dump the weeds. I will be asking the Pell Lake Sportsman's club for as many volunteers as we can get. We will need other volunteers to help out. Rakes & wheel barrows will also be needed. I have already contacted Barry, the owner of the weed cutter, and got her permission for me to run the weed cutter. I plan on this cleanup to happen on the weekend of June 16 & 17. Watch for signs around town & collection boxes in the store, gas station, & Scotty's Service Station in town. Anyone interested in helping out can email me at, and I will send you my phone # so we can talk.
Hopefully after this clean-up, we can plan another fishing tournament!!!
I hope to see you out there helping!
