Alderman Hill, you are right: it is a difficult position former alderman I-can't-have-my-way-so-I-quit O'Neill put you in. The relevant question is not whether you are for or against handicapped people or even handicapped parking; it's simply how many spots and where they are located. The city council was right not to give in to attempts to shame you into reversing what is essentially an engineering decision. The city council bowed to public intimidation on the Mirbeau/Hummel issue, and look how well that turned out!
