Maybe if the Lake Geneva program was more competitive at a younger level the kids who are serious about playing baseball wouldn't switch to GC. If you look at the conference championship team at Badger this year, you will find that almost every starter (most living in Lake Geneva) played GC ball from a young age through Legion because it is a much more competitive program that focuses on the proper fundamentals. A stud in the Lake Geneva ymca and pony leagues ends up being just an average player in GC. If Rick Schiltz cares at all about the Badger program, he would let those kids go to where they actually will become better players.
