To the Editor:

Thanks to all who helped support the Salvation Army this 2018 Christmas Season. The total collected for this year was $13,310.21 — 9.7 percent more than last year. This was accomplished with 230 hours of volunteer bell-ringing at Daniels’s Sentry Foods in Walworth, 11 businesses allowing counter kettles on-site and generous contributions from the community.

Thank you to Daniel’s Sentry Foods for allowing the ringers in the store lobbies. Also thanks to the merchants who allowed counter kettles to be placed at their business. They include: Heyer Hardware, Town Bank, Cashmere Compass , McCullough’s Drug Store, Pino’s Pizza, Subway, Sammy’s on the Square, Daddy Maxwell‘s, 10 Pin Pub, Main St. Country Store, and Seimer‘s Cruise-In.

Groups that supplied bell-ringers this year include: Walworth-Fontana Rotary Club, Fontana Community Church, Williams Bay Lutheran Church, Brick Church — Walworth, Grace Free Church — Walworth, Linn Presbyterian Church, Big Foot Lions Club, Faith Lutheran Church — Walworth, Lakeland Animal Welfare Society, Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, Walworth Immanuel UCC Church, Christ Lutheran Church — Sharon, Triune Lutheran Church — Sharon, St. Benedict Catholic Church — Fontana, St. Vincent DePaul, Walworth 4-H Club, Big Foot Pioneer 4-H Club, Walworth/Fontana Cub/Boy Scout Troop, and Big Foot High School National Honor Society, FBLA and FFA.
