Two Lake Geneva City Council committees are scheduled to meet Tuesday to reconsider a nearly $500,000 purchase of new downtown parking kiosks.
The public works committee has a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the finance, license and regulation committee's regular meeting at 6 p.m. Both meetings are at City Hall, and both are open to the public.
Both committees will have an opportunity to make recommendations to the full city council on whether to move forward with the parking kiosk expenditure.
The full city council will take final action on the matter at a later date.
Aldermen agreed Feb. 25 to replace the city's existing fleet of 66 parking kiosks at a cost of $7,500 each, or about $500,000 in total. But after public criticism, aldermen decided to send the matter back to committee for reconsideration.
