Lake Geneva schools and area police departments are working together on a food drive next week to benefit the Walworth County Food Pantry.

Donations can be dropped off between Monday, April 8, and Friday, April 12, at Badger High School, Lake Geneva Middle School, or Star Center, Central-Denison or Eastview Elementary School. Each school will have a bin on site for donations.

Donations also can be dropped off all week at the Lake Geneva Police Department.

Items of greatest need include peanut butter, canned tuna, canned chicken, tomato sauce, pasta and mac n' cheese.

On April 13, police departments from throughout the county will collect food donations at business drop-off sites: from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Whitewater Walmart; from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Delavan Piggly Wiggly; from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Walworth Sentry; from 1:40 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Lake Geneva Piggly Wiggly; from 3:40 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the East Troy Piggly Wiggly; and from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the Elkhorn Piggly Wiggly.

Participating police departments include the Walworth County Sheriff's Department and the local departments in Lake Geneva, Whitewater, Walworth, Delavan, East Troy and Elkhorn.

All donations will go to the Walworth County Food Pantry, which is located in Elkhorn.
